The Laundry Rooms is a multi-room music & media facility consisting of 5 isolated control rooms/production suites all of which share a central live recording area. The complex was built to the plans & specifications of renowned studio design specialists Recording Architecture by the owners Jon Burton & Dave Hadley, both career sound engineers with many years experience working locally, nationally & internationally. The rooms themselves are all designed to be acoustically neutral with a very high degree of sound isolation from the others within the building. Individual rooms occassionally become available for rent long-term but all are currently tenanted with long standing clients.

Aside from finding a home for the vast array of vintage analogue equipment collected over a long period the vision was to create a supportive community enviroment for musicians, producers & anyone involved in the creative industries to share ideas & expertise to the benefit of all concerned. People working within The Laundry Rooms cover a wide range of music-related activities including songwriting, TV music production, teaching, running record labels & DJ’ing.

Mu Studios is the recording arm of The Laundry Rooms offering two different but complimentary control rooms for tracking, utilising the live room & isolated guitar booths, & mixing. Options available range from studio dry hire to full artisit development packages. Recent clients have included Richard Hawley, The Prodigy, Serbian supergoup Rakila & respected producer Bill Gautier.

The Laundry Service is the rental side of the business, offering an extensive list of analogue mixing desks & outboard equipment, microphones & backline for live or studio use. Location recording facilities using JoeCo Blackbox Recorders & Alesis HD24’s are also available
